Charoite is a beautiful purple stone, found in Russia, that has lovely swirls that can look pearly or chatoyant. It was discovered in the 1940's, but wasn't widely known to the world until the late 70s. The piece of charoite in this piece is a truly exceptional specimen, with chatoyancy and vibrant color!
The shape of the stone is reminiscent of a vase, so a flower accent seemed fitting. The flower in this piece is hand sawn, textured, and formed. This pendant is 2.5" tall and 1" wide. It hangs from a chain that is partially beaded with amethyst in a complementary hue of lilac. The chain has an extender and is wearable from 22-24." At the end of the extender there is a little charoite and amethyst accent. The hook clasp is hand-forged. This piece is sterling silver, given a dark patina and lightly polished.
