You may have seen blue kyanite, a gorgeous stone with a silver shimmer, but have you come across the green variety? While the blue color is a result of iron and titanium, the green hue is derived from vanadium impurities. It is a lovely shade, a soft color, sort of seafoam with a touch more green.
These stones dangle from chains suspended beneath Herkimer diamonds – in this case, “diamond” is a misnomer, but a commonly accepted one, as these stones are actually colorless quartz. They grow naturally in the double-terminated (pointed on both ends) shape – hence the name “diamond.”
These earrings are sterling silver and they measure 2-5/8” in total length, including my signature hand forged ear wires.
